What would you

Post by DaGriz »

Like to see for my next knife giveaway? I'm looking for some suggestions as I'd like to build another giveaway knife in the near future.

So if you would be so kind to list up some suggestions.
I don't do guthook knives as I personally don't care for them.

I make durable, user friendly, fairly decent lookng working knives.

Thanks for your response!

I have seen a thousand custom knives in my days.. but I have only seen one custom fish knife..
Just my two cents.

If I had my wish for a perfect kife ..it would be somthing I could skin with and my wife would use in the spam..
Now I know thats sounds funny but I use only one knife when i skin, quarter and debone.. And i like the idea of using the same for kithchen/utility .. Not sure what that would be excatly but i think maybe somthing built in the middle of the road from a pearing knife to a fillet..not too thin but not too thick either....Oh and while im wishin it would have a nice pic of an excalibur etched into the blade..

being i have all the needed skin'n and process'n knives... bout tha only other kind i would need isa
high voltage EPR cable splice'n blade... electrical equipment manufacturers offer this kinda knife
but there trash !!! i did a job in rhoda spain back in the desert storm era, and an old CB master chief
made me a splice'n knife that lasted 15-20 splices before need'n to be sharpened !!!
of course, after several years of service with this blade, it was stored in a compound that was
targeted by an rag-head rpg..... and never recovered
can't tellya what the blade was made from... but it held an edge for quite-a-while in heavy
copper and semi-con rubber enviroment.
you prolly only make show and hunting knives anaway !!! and from the looks of your creations,
they are very well made.

Not what you want to hear, but hell, this won't be the 1st time, lol. I think you should come up w/ a few basic designs and make them to order for a fixed price on a 1st come, 1st served basis.

As previously discussed off forum, I'd like a folding lock blade. For a fair price.....

You asked, be kind.

I love combat knives and bayonets... A smaller and shiny blade inspired by the actual M9 or a damascus replica of the 1957 Swiss bayonet will be neat !

What about a tanto blade ?

What kind of "fish" knife?

I've never made a folder but there's alway s the first time. I really don't do special order knives! ;)

A tanto kind of peaks my interest, Hmmmmm...?

Cable spliceing knife? I don't think so.

Bowie knife, maybe a Natchez style bowie; at some point

Combination, mutli purpose knife... That's a tough one. It's either spam use or outdoorsman.

Guys, the key is a knife that will appeal to most everybody. A special use knife has a very limited appeal

Keep the suggestions coming They're all good

I like a thin knife with a 4" blade . Like the trapper knife Case makes. But not a folding knife . That is what I use most of the time. Great to gut deer with not to big and easy to work with in small places. Good handle that fits and curves in your hand not a block to hang on to. They are great in the field and the house.

4"-5" drop point, do-it-all blade - nicely balanced.

I have a couple of knives that I just LOVE the way they feel - they just feel "right". One of those is a recently gifted skinner! :D The other is a Browning folder that I carry in my purse when it's not in my hunting pants pocket.

A knife I seen a long time ago was a skinning knife like the ones you make but it had holes for your fingers to go through, hope I explained it right, I never tried this knife and don't even know if it would be comfortable to use.
On a side note, every knife you make I'm sure anybody here would be proud to own,
Bill
