Illinois Trail Cam Pics (Updated 9/7)

Post by GaryM »

I have my trail cam back out near a mineral block. I've found that between now and August you can get a lot of good pics of the bucks growing their antlers if you set up around one of those dark red mineral blocks. My neighbor has cattle and has several of them. Maybe the bucks need the extra minerals for growing their antlers, I'm not sure. They don't seem to come to the block much once they are out of velvet and not at all in the winter.

I'll keep this thread updated as I get more pics. Gary

Lots of doe pics this time. Most of the does in my pics haven't had their fawns yet. Here's a fat one due anytime now. This pic is 6 days old...she may have dropped by now.

Great pics and a nice deere your riding. Reminds me of a pic we have of my brother driving right through a scrape with his john deere all terrain vehicle. Very bad. Very very bad.

Lots of doe pics this time as usual and a couple of spikes. Haven't seen any Bambi's yet. The big buck is still hanging around and he's definitely growing some headgear. Here's the latest. Gary

I took the card out of the camera and shut it off for this week. Too hot. I get false triggers during the day. I've had visitors, though. No bambis seen on the cam yet but I saw one in the pasture a few days ago. More antlers this time...
