Part of the family

Post by Raymond »

Hey Folks,
We lost a part of our family today. Our toy poodle named "Lucky". I had to put her down this morning. She was fourteen years old. We raised from a pup. I named her "Lucky" because when she was born I had to open up the sack that she was encased in and I gave her mouth to mouth. I revived her and she was the sweetest little girl you could ever want. Friendly to everyone. She loved to be with people. She was truly a part of our family. I am not ashamed to say that tears were flowing and tears are welling up in my eyes as I speak about her. I love you Lucky and I miss you.

So sorry to hear of your loss!

It's always tough to lose a family pet, but I'm sure it was especially tough because of your special and close connection with Lucky from the moment of birth.

I'm sure you're walking around with a Lucky-shaped hole in your heart right now. The grief is testimony to the love you shared.

Sorry to hear. We get close to our pets. Nothing wrong with shedding a few tears. Would do the same if one of my dogs. Give you credit, took a dog and kept it for life. That's what it is all about. :) :)

Sometimes I wonder why dogs have such short lives. We seem to outlive a lot of good friends in our lifetimes, but our lives are so much fuller for having the chance to share our existence with them.

Seems like I always say don't want another one when I have to part with an good dog, but then one comes along and adopts me.

I said the same thing, this morning. Maybe later on new friend will find me, maybe. For now I think I will wait for sure. Thanks for all your kind words, it is nice to know that there is a lot of good people like me out there.

Very sorry to hear of your dog Lucky, she indeed was lucky to have a loving family through her whole life!
They really do become a part of our lives and loosing that part is hard to take, but the joy they have giving us and the memories are what we remember about them!
May you find peace at this time in your life!

raymond, i tear with you... :(
we hada beagle for 14 years that was my son's brother while he was growing up.
and what a find friend he was !! house and swamp dog
he was covertable that way. at bed time he would always go to the back porch to get cleaned off before going to sleep in his bed. and loved my son as his own
they were a team.... hunting, fishing, play'n ball or just ride'n tha 4 wheeler.
they were as one. we miss him very much and he went to his reward 15 years ago !!! and he is in our mind all the time, i like boo's say'n bout the dogs....
it could not be any better than that.
