My cottage is northeast of Kaladar(Ardoch) and I have a trail cam set up on my property. Last week I went up and downloaded around 20 pictures from the camera onto my daughters laptop. There were pictures of racoons, turkey, deer, bear, and what I thought was a horse!!! I knew it couldn't be a horse (of course) but the picture was taken around 10:00pm and was a little unclear. Looking at the pictures in the above post made me realize that it had to be an elk!!! We're going back up to the cottage tomorrow(kids are done school)and I can't wait to see what the camera will show me this time. I'll keep you all posted. Oh.....I'll try and learn how to post pictures here as well.

Great elk pics!
They look very healthy.
Hopefully the herd will continue to flourish and grow!

If you don't know ...the reintroduction of elk has been great.
So great that there is a limited hunt this fall in that area.

It will be like winning the loto to get a tag.

Ken.
That would be a great loto to win.

My son won the lottery as some of the previous posts suggest. He has a tag for the 2012 hunt. Kaladar is at the south west corner of his hunting zone. Not being from or familiar with the area, I'm just wondering if any of you folks have suggestions to help him out, i.e. landowner contacts. concentrations of local elk social groups, recent sightings, etc. to the north and east of Kaladar. We'll hopefully be visiting the area to scout a couple of weekends before the hunt. He's a recent university graduate and just started a new job, so won't be able to get time off to hunt other than weekends. Thanks folks.
