Father Time, Mother Earth

Post by awshucks »

Happens to the best of us. One day, it just isn't worth chewing thru the straps anymore. For me, that happened a year or so ago. We can run, but we can't hide.

I'm 64, got some health issues, and for the last year or so, just hunt w/ rifle off the hateful 4 whlr when there's snow in Arkansas.

The other 362 days a year, I think about life, lol. Don't get me wrong, I still offhand some and bench shoot.

The main purpose for this whole diatribe is the knife and hatchet I 'won' w/ Da Grizz.

Truth be told, I don't need them and don't want to see them end up in an Ar pawn shop.

Having cleared this w/ Da Grizz, I want to pass them on here. A place I got so much from, made too many friends to count, and, just spent a bunch of quality time.

See them 'stay in the game', so to speak. I love puns.

I'm leaning toward pm bids, $ to go to a charity. Other suggestions welcome via pm or post. Help me find them a real home..................

You could donate them to the Michigan Crossbow Federation and here's why.

Laura Scharich is making the org into a non-profit. It is very costly and there is lots of red tape. They help underprivileged kids and handicap hunters. These are people who would never otherwise see the wonderful things you and I have taken for granted for so many years. Just a thought.....

I'm sure Laura could raffle the set and use the money toward something special.

Dan and I discussed the idea he has about his knife and hatchet set. I think he is doing the right thing by having it go to a member of this forum. It would be nice for somebody who would use it and appreciate them

A big thumbs up to Awshucks!
You sure you can skin griz, pilgrim??

Sorry Dan, no kiss . . .I've seen pictures.

Nice try.

I like the idea of letting Laura have them too. Very nice of you Dan!

Well, this has taken a strange turn I didn't see coming. The goodies are gone, and I've been asked to keep it confidential.

Thanks all for the ideas and pm's.

This is a very generous and thoughtful thing to do! Both the knife and the hatchet are beautiful, but personally, I would like to show up at camp with that hatchet! Didn't know you made those too. Inspiring!
