I need to get another string, I saw some wear on the string near the tip today and I am worried about a dry fire while the bow is at rest. I would like to destring the bow, but I understand I need to remove certain items first. Do I need to remove the dissipator pads only, or do I need to remove the dissipator bars as well?
Yes, I watched the DVD and the pads were mentioned, but I have seen the bars mentioned as well in various older posts here in the forum, so I want to make sure before I make some sort of horrible mistake.
Hopefully, as time passes, I will be able to stop bothering everyone with these mundane questions.
Thanks again,
Stephen
Ps: I switched the strings out before, after a dry fire (bow is fine), but that string went through maybe three hundred shots, this one went through about 120. Is there a difference from one string to the next? I wax them every eight shots.

If your leaving it unstrung for a length of time then just take the pads off. There's a possibility of damaging them by being compressed by the limbs over time. I wouldn't worry too much about a df while the bow is at rest though.

Re: Stupid Question about Dissipator Pads/Bars
Now to your question . If you are changing your string right away . Don`t bother taking the pads off . If you are un-stringing the bow for an extended period then by all means remove the pads to save them from being squished out .
If you have any more questions . Don`t hesitate to ask away . There is alot of very knowledgable persons on here .
