Barebow shooting
Barebow shooting
Does anyone shoot their excaliburs without the aid of any sights at all? I used to gap shoot a traditional bow, and I wonder how well this might work with an excalibur as well. Anyone doing this or has anyone tried it?
Re: Barebow shooting
Gap shooting, it's focusing on the target and seeing the arrow in the shooter's periphery vision. There are different techniques or names for it, split-vision, etc. When I was shooting trad equipment in the nineties, it was looked down on by instinctive archers, but I could never just look at the target alone and be accurate.hankenhunter wrote:Someone is bored stiff!By the way, what is a gap? I'm more or less curious if it could be done with a crossbow; maybe I will just give it a go some weekend and see what happens. I was thinking it might be easier since the crossbow, or at least my crossbow, shoots flatter than the longbows I own. Maybe I am bored, but I got to wondering how medieval soldiers would aim a crossbow, and this is all I can think of.
