Summertime in the Cemetery - Many pics

Post by Mr. Dynamite »

.
You may remember back in the late winter/early spring when I posted a bunch of pictures of a cemetery in town here that was chalked full of deer. Well, end of last week I had some time on my hands so I thought I would stop by and see how the deer were doing, and if they were spending the summer in there too. Ended up seeing 6 bucks, most memorable being the big 8 from last year, and now a smaller 8 and a 7. I may have seen these ones last year too, but don't remember for sure.

This first bunch are all of the small 8 and the 7 point that was sitting by him.

Little guy was real interested.

This is him (I believe) last year, and on the same hill.

I guess he did put on a couple more inches of antler this year

The cemetery is quite a large chunk of land surrounded on 2 sides by busy road, one side by subdivision, and the last side by the Thames River which has a wooded ravine with walkways and parks. These deer appear to have traveled into the city along the river and found a nice place to live with no hunting allowed for miles around - it is all city! Too bad too, because I recently met a member from off our site here who told me of a 12 point buck that was sighted in the park right behind the cemetery last fall. Would love to have a chance at him.
