Targets

Post by coors »

I bought a new target from bass pro in Toronto and it is a layered target ,it said that you could shoot target points and broadheads in the target with easy removal. The problem is that the arrow is going into the target up to the fletching,is this normal.

you really got be picky when it comes to store bought targets for arrows.
be sure the targets are made for CROSSBOWS... and can handle 350-400 fps.
i have been tru alot lately with the scouts. and i have found the "rag bag"
the best for field points and very economical.....
as for BH's....the 18/1 rhinehart can't be beat in my opinion, but costly as hell !!! and well worth it :D
there are alot of targets out there that says they can.....BUT they can't !!!!
walmart does sell one combo block target that will handle fp's and bh's...
check it out.... and good luck

Yep. Got a target supposibly for both, broadheads blast right through it and field points push big clumps out the back. Don't think any target is good for both. Tried it with vertical and crossbows.

I have a covered sand pile stops broad heads great I shoot at a piece or card board with aiming spots on it or just a Styrofoam coffee cup stuck in the sand so I am aiming at the bottom of the cup it never wears out.

I've got the Yellow Jacket bag for field points that works great. Easy to remove. Rinehart block for broadheads. You can shoot field points in to it but not easy to remove. It is one tuff target though.

The best target for field points to me is the Spyderweb you can stand a foot away from it and your arrows only go in 4 or 5 inches and that's point blanc. Real easy to pull out too. But you can't use broadheads. David at wyvern creations told me about it. I got one with a bow purchase. Rinehart 18:1 best broadhead target.

bought a block black crossbow target and it works great with field points but broadheads eat it up pretty fast.
