Vortex or Axiom?

Post by bamabuk »

Hi, Im buying my first crossbow soon and cant decide between the vortex/shadowzone scope for the extra speed or the axiom/varizone scope for the light weight(non metal rail scares me though). Pros and cons of each? I have shot both and liked both. This forum is priceless by the way...no doubt i will be here alot learning from all your experience.
Thanks

Just pick the one that fits your hands and body better. If you still can't choose, then place them in a hat and pick one. The Axiom mainframe concerns that you have will never be an issue. It will be around longer than you.

I have shot the exocet 200,equinox and my wife has an axiom. I love them all!! You cant go wrong with any of them! I have been shootin her bow alot :D and its sure fun to shoot. And with a ff string its as fast and flat shootin as a stock string vortex!! so eather way its a win win!! Have fun!!

Welcome to the forum!!! :D
As was stated before me...don't let the rail of the axiom bother you, if it's an excalibur it's quality plain and simple.
Either one will get the job done!!

If your new to x-bows i would stay with the stock string that came with the bow. It's a lot more forgiving in case of a dryfire. Once you get the hang of it then you can step up to the faster strings. Excal's ff string is a good one...that's what i use on my ibex. I use a JBK custom endless loop string on my vortex. The king of strings would be a Boo string, just google Boo custom strings.

i have both. as a hunting bow the axiom is lighter and swings better for me. wouldnt hesitate to use either but the axiom without all the add ons is a clean mean xbow.

A few oz. one way or the other is moot! Now if'en you like them T-hole stocked models the Ibex is 175 lb. The Vortex cause its a 200 pounder is a fine all around model.

I shoot a Vortex and I just love it! I have heard nothing good from the members here who have the new Axiom with the composite rail. Whichever one you go with I am confident you will not be dissappointed! :)
