NS Bear Tag Filled

Post by novacam »

Well, I'm tagged out! I have a huge bear at my bait once in a while but I couldn't wait for him. I had a bear circle behind and come right under my tree and went broadside at 18 yards and my Phoenix did the rest. First shot at a live target with it, first kill with a crossbow and first ever black bear. He only went 20-30 yards before he expired. He measured at five foot three which I know isn't big by any means but it's a real trophy to me! I will be having some bear stew soon and getting a head mount done as well!

Congratulations, you have harvested something I, and many in the south, have not. Of course, I entered the "Grin and Bear it" contest, but the only thing I got out of that was about the same thing I got when the VA Doc says the same thing to me prior to a proctology exam

Nice job on bagging that bear. :D I love it. The successful hunt threads are starting to pick up in frequency. Man I love this time of year. I'm hoping to get out to my stand for the early anterless hunt that starts tomorrow. :D

That's a trophy in itself! :D
(bears are protected here, could be why bear meat tastes so good to me - I've had legally killed bear meat given to me)
