new Vortex

Post by thumper »

Hello all I'm new here, I've never had a crossbow untill last year. I bought a Parker Cyclone (sorry!). Well something just wasn't right so I'm trading it for an Excal. this week. It's the Vortex and I was just wondering if there was any advice or tips on arrows or broadheads yall could give me. I would really appreciate the info. I have Muzzy 3 and 4 blade, swacker, and Rage 2 blade heads, all 100 gr. Have thought about the G5 t3 expandables also which brings up another question, fixed or expandable heads ? I sure wish I had gotten the Vortex instead of the Parker to begin with but I always have been a day late and dollar short !

Welcome aboard thumper. You're in the right place. I use 125 grain spitfires in my vortex and love them. Great accury and shoot to the same poi as my 125 grain field points. You are going to love your new vortex :D :D :D

X2 on the Spitfire. Very accurate, same POI as practice tips, massive wounds and cheap. The perfect broadhead.

Your gonna love the vortex!!! Best advice i can give you is DONT shoot at the same place twice!! Damn arrows get expensive.
Those rage and swhacker's should shoot good out of your tex...but i have to agree with the gentleman who posted before me...125gr spitfire's are freaking deadly out of my vortex!! :D

Welcome to the forum!

I shoot a Vortex also and like it very much! I've had great performance from the Rage 2 broadhead on Firebolt arrows.
