Welcome to the forum!
I put the S5's on my Vortex and I'm very pleased with the results also. :)

You might consider getting a pair of extra large BowJax, the larger ones used on stabilizers. I put one over each of the rubber stoppers. Makes things even better. Other people have done it on this forum and have posted pictures.

I think he means taking the riser off and filling the voids in the rail with spray foam or silicone.
I inserted rubber wedges inside mine does make a difference.

Am too curious about the filled core!

Also just installed me S5 dampners and my string is still bout 1/2" from the rubbers and that is without any twist in the stock string. My string height is just below the farthest mark on the rail. Any ideas or should I just leave well alone? Thanks

Smart thing is to leave the filled core alone, can cause problems with over fill if using foam.. Follow your instruction book on setting your string height. If you are happy with the way it is shooting leave it be for now.

My string on my Exomax just touches the rubbers on mine, string height is 1 1/8".

The string shouldn't actually touch the bumpers, at least it shouldn't put any undue pressure on them. If the string is too close at rest, it will impact a lot harder and reduce the life expectancy of the bumpers.

According the September Ex-Blast (monthly newletter) here's what it says:
Ex-Blast wrote:TECH TIP:

S5 String Shock Sound Suppression System Brace Height

The S5 String Shock Sound Suppression System has become a very popular accessory that does a great job of reducing 30% noise and vibration on any current Excalibur crossbow model. The string should not put any pressure on the S5 rubber pads when the crossbow is uncocked, this could result in premature wear of the pads. If the string is touching just remove the string and give it a few twists to set the string back from the pads, 1/4" or so is ideal.

Do you have any idea of how often we need to replace the S5 bumpers?
I know it depends mostly of how often you shoot your crossbow, but do you have a general answer?

Thanks
