but I got no responses there, so I will see if anyone here has a recommendation for a comfortable hang-on treestand. I cannot afford a climber (I gave mine away to another forum member who needed one) and the old hang-on I had someone had gotten ahold of it and really messed it up.

That's what I get for leaving it out in the woods though LOL

I have an issue sitting on hard or not-so-soft surfaces...so I need a suggegstion for a good all-day hang-on. Any suggestions? Any links?

Sorry man, never tried a hang on. They look too precarious.

Ray, it is the stepping over to them, and off of them, from the ladder sticks that's the dangerous part lol The one that is on the tree now is bent up along the frame, the platforms bent, and the mesh has been broken on the platform...someone did a number on it.

I just cannot afford a climber though.

Rufus,

I sure appreciate the offer, but I am about 80 miles south of St Louis lol PLUS, if I made the trip to the Land of the Big Bucks, I might just stay LOL I am indebted to you for the kindness though. Much obliged.

Have an old friend and hunting buddy who's father used to be into upholstery. He took a so-so climber I had, that was modestly priced, and turned it into a deluxe model with padding on the seats and a padded aluminum rail all the way around. You could have gone to sleep in it without worrying about falling out. Couldn't carry it very far in the woods though. Blew out of the back of the truck one morning before daylight darn it.

After 3 seasons now of sitting in some pretty awful and also some pretty comfy hangons during the bear hunt, I have come to the conclusion that this old gorilla was the most comfortable. It has a hammock style seat with armrests on it. The seat and armrests flip up when standing or getting on. Now I don't think they are made anymore, or at least I haven't seen them anywhere. I did some searching and just brought in two 'Big Dog III' stands which are almost identical to the gorillas. Find a supplier/store in your area and check them out, you won't be dissapointed. Well that is unless you do what I do and fall asleep in them and scare the bears away with your snoring

Red,

Sleeping is one of my favorite big game calls. Seems whenever I do, that is when they come around - because when I wake up, their nowhere to be seen LOL
