Hidden camera build a long

Post by footed shaft »

Here is a little build a long to go along with the thread i made a couple weeks ago.
Any questions please ask.
Bill

Here is a little build a long of the plastic/bark trail camera box i built

Picture of the plastic tube set up to cut.

Image

Camera inside the tube for sizing.

Image

Here is the piece of bark, peeled from a piece of firewood at my buddies place

Image

Bark epoxied to the palstic "o" tube, top and bottom glued on .

Image

Gluing the bark to the slide on face.

Image

Here is the unit with all the bark glued on, side, bottom, and top. I use velcro to hold the camera in place.

Image

The whole thing together.

Image

And with the camera installed.

Image

Set up in the woods :)

And a couple pics from last week

Wow that's a great project! Nicely done! Big ole buck didn't even know it was there. :)

Now that is a cool DIY project. I can see that being really useful even around the sheds in your yard. No one would even guess it was there. Real cool idea. That could also be built out of steel tubing for added security.
Thanks,
Raymond

P.S. Maybe a cable of some sort to secure it to a tree trunk or something.

Yes, it could be built of steel tubing. The only downside would be weight.
The only problem i have with this unit is it's smell!!! It smells like a bag of a$$/vomit !!! I think it is the glue reacting to the wood. The deer sure don't care, but my wife has banned it from the house !!! lol

P.S
That buck was there 45 mins before i climbed into my stand!!! :P

I did use velcro to keep it in place. The front piece slides up and out of the way( it too is made of plexi glass). I put velcro on the inside of the box and on the back of the camera, a gentle pull, and the camera comes out of the box.
