range finding scopes for crossbows

I know im not the first guy to think of this but i got up this morn asking myself why ?..Why are they not avalible?
I know they make them for rifles that range 1000 yards + and cost $800+ but why not make one just for crossbows?
My want would be somthing in the size of a vari-zone(knowing it would have to be a bit bigger)
that would range say 10-50 yards..kept as simple as possible and priced fair..maybe the 250-350 price range,,
i know the big thing is arc and all that but im just saying to start at an affordable price i dont want the Inclometer just simple ranging..
The reason i put this on here is i did in fact call two of the major optics companies and spent a little time sharing what i want..they both were very open to my thoughts but didnt give me any real indiction that my call would go any farther...i wanted to talk to somone in R&D but thats not to easy as i found..they both said they look at forums and feedback from folks on twitter and facebook ect..
what is you guys thoughts and how can we give em a push to make this happen?..I told em "if you build it we will buy it" Well... would you?.

Don't know about other states. In mine it's not legal to have that type of system on a bow or Xbow unless your hunting by special permit or something. Scope is fine, but no lazer or range finding device affixed to the xbow.

It's a darn good idea but until alot of states drop the legal issue I can't see it happening. It's too bad... Just another good way to make a clean shot. I know if they made one and it was priced fairly I would get in line for it

I interpret that to mean that you could use it during the short buck-only crossbow season or rifle season, just not either-sex archery and Xbow.

Thats a strange law not allowing rangefinding aids etc??? It would only result in less accurate shots .
I wondered the same though strum, it only makes sense.

im interested in giving the optics companies a nudge..but i need help ..i would like for every member on here to call at least two main companies and offer their feed back..or at least send em an e mail..

You could buy a cheaper 2nd focal plane mil-dot scope. I say2nd focal plane because they are cheaper and the variable power would move the mil-dots like the speed ring system works. You would have to use the manufacturer set power for mil/ranging and make a dope chart for reference but it should work. Don't know if anyone here has tried it out. I may after hunting season.

answer is yes its legal to use a rangefinding scope on a crossbow..so common Bushnell and Nikon....make us one already

as far as i know they arent making ones just for cross bows ..thats why i called both companies and voiced my wants..you never know they may be working on something but they sure arent gonna tell .. the ones for rifles are just way too pricey for me and also overkill..i dont think they realy see a market for them like i/we do.. thats part of why i started this thread ..in hopes that we the consumers would voice our wants ..
