I lost a father figure yesterday and a life long hunting partner Erwin.
Erwin was someone who took me under his wing when my father was out of the picture and was a life long friend of the family.
He treated my brother and I as sons and was the one who found the property his 3 sons my brother and I have hunted on our whole life.
He was one of the great men of our time and is fondly remembered

A special Man indeed to give of himself to another Man's children when he had his own. You were very fortunate to know a man like that and be mentored by him. I know you will carry on his ways Gerry........ :)

My heart goes out to you man. I'll be keeping you and his family in my prayers. In many ways, at least in my opinion, it's just as hard losing a close friend as it is a family member.
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4

Rest in peace Erwin.

Sorry to hear of your loss. There are a few special people in each person's s life that are closer than family. They influence us positively and forever.
