Not sure how to vote on this. Do i think a rangefinding scope is necessary for a crossbow, no. Would I pay 300-400 for one,no. Spend the cash and buy a good buchnell or leopold rangefinder with arc.

Or if you are a gadget hound, buy the scope, otherwise....

I'm all for killing 2 birds with one rock. Scope and built in rangefinder is a match made in heaven.

I find no need for range finding scope and I wouldn't spend that coin for one, that's what my Nikon rangefinder is for.

I like my Rangefinder in my pocket or around my neck because i can use it with my rifle or crossbow and if it screws up i can get another one, besides it wouldnt keep you from moving to much more than with a hand held unless there was a button made to go close to your trigger on the stock.

interesting post. I think most guys and gals would buy a separate range finder to use during archery and gun season. for the all xbow guy you might have a point. send me one I'll test it out. lol

I agree that 300 to 400 bucks is a bit high i just wanted to see what yall thought..but if you think about it a fair scope is in the 200 dollar range and a rangefinder is in the 200 dollar range so we already spent that much..
i never need one for rifle hunting here ..its a rare thing to get over a 80 yard shot in theses Ga. mtns..but you guys add some good points ..keep em coming :D

I dont feel a need for a RFS. One of my built in habits when I get into my tree is use my RF to identify objects that give me my ranges .. I then try to put it to memory and spend time quizing myself. It helps me pass the time and works great when a potential tag use walks into the picture.

Just my opinion from up here in the cheap seats ... But then again I thought OJ was guilty the first time~!

From zero to forty I see no need for one, I think with most of the gang here under a thirty yd shot is the norm, my rig is set-up to forty yds with a single xhair, so my answers are no no no
