A good season so far! 2 Does down with pics

Post by watamach »

I am lucky I have a pile of good farms that I have permission on so seeing deer is never a problem. I scout hard, drive my farms regularly, follow the crops and wind so there is some hard work involved.

I have seen deer on stand every time out and had 30yd or less shots on several does and small bucks. Its amazing how big bucks always look up and little ones rarely do. I had the same 5 pt at 10yds a couple of times and he had no clue I was there.

The rut has yet to start around my area as I usually will see the bucks chasing when it kicks in. I have seen plenty of sign and I expect things to heat up this weekend.

Here is a good rub.......
Image

Tons of big scrapes on the properties I hunt.....

My doe hanging she weighed in at 180lbs and my friends first deer ever (using a Vortex) was 140lbs. 2 big does down within 10 minutes of each other and 100 yds apart. Recovery was less then 25 yds on both.

Saturday night dinner back strap wrapped in bacon......it doesn't get any better.

Good luck to all. I look forward to reading my fellow hunters stories as the season heats up.
