Congrats on a fine deer. Very nice story and pictures. I don't take a lot of pictures as I hunt alone, and always pressed for time. You did a good job!! :D :D :D

Congrats!! That deer was a long time coming. Are you done for the season or can you get out with your bow?

Thanks everyone!

Crispy - I will be out for a week of rifle hunting up north. We have 2 doe tags for there this year. After that I hope to get out again with the bow.

Not ready to pack it in - need my "me" time in the woods! :D

Way to go. I always have an empty feeling until I or one of the group down's a deer. It's a big time recharge of the internal battery when the first steak goes on the BBQ!!! :)
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

The reward is the hunt and the kill just adds to it. I missed last season and i feel alot rusty now and i have not taken a deer yet,I have had the chance but held off for a buck that hasnt shown up yet.I feel blessed to be able to go this year and to have the encounters i have had that i couldnt get sitting at home.Congrats on killing the buck and i hope its not 10 more before your next harvest

That's awesome Vix!
He's a nice one and will definately take up some room in the freezer! :)

Good luck and safe hunting on your upcoming hunting trip too.

Congrats again....good crew you had helping you, too. Deer shot in the morning are better...lots of daylight left to do the hard work - getting him out!

Enjoy the venison...it always tastes better when you are the one who harvested it.....
