Best Climber Treestand for XBow

Post by BizROWorld »

Who here hunts out of a climber with their crossbow, and which one do you like? Have been looking at the Summit's (Viper, 180, etc). Looking for advice. Thanks in advance. No max in price, just want something safe and thats works well with crossbows.

Thanks!

I've used the Summit Viper and know that it gets lots of good reviews. I think it's one of the most comfortable.

Also check out the Lone Wolf climbers!

I love the new summit viper. I pretty much stand the whole time. It's easy to use and very quiet.

do you sit with the crossbow across your lap the whole time, or do you hang it on the tree?

I'm looking at the Summit Razor as it has the stand N sit climber but once your up the tree you can fold down the climber bar so its out of the way.

I've got the summit Goliath. I like the extra room. I haven't gotten any taller over the years, but I have gotten a little wider.

I've used a Summit Ultimate Viper SS for 4 years and love it. It's easy to climb with, very comfortable if you plan to sit for most of a day, has an adjustable shooting rail which really helps with a crossbow or rifle, and is really well made.

Do you keep the crossbow on your lap while sitting the whole time? How do you lock your climber to a tree?

I have an Old Man from about 12 years ago. You climb facing the tree and hunt facing away. It has a bar/rail you can put up for rifle or Xbows, or put it down for Vbow. Easy and quite to put on tree. Cables go around tree. Easy to backpack in and out every time. Had to order mine because very few stores carry them. Would look at them before making a purchase.

the viper is my choice but if were a little bigger i would use the Goliath,,,dont understand what you mean by locking it on a tree..if you mean a way to leave it in the woods in hopes it will still be there when you get back..good luck

I also use the Viper SS and love it. I also have the folding foot rest. I would highly recommend this stand. My cousin just bought the Viper SD. Best price that we could find in Ontario was $299 at Archers Nook in London. Good Luck with which ever stand you choose and Happy Hunting.

do you sit with the crossbow across your lap the whole time, or do you hang it on the tree? I bought a 5 pack of those cheap bow/equipment hangers. They look like mini screw in tree steps. I use 1 for my crossbow and 1 for my binos, RF, calls..

Yes, I mean leaving it in the woods. I know many people who lock their climbers to a tree for a couple of days if they know they are hunting from the stand a few days in a row.
