Installing Lighted Nocks in Carbon Arrows

Post by bear5 »

Folks,
How the heck do you get the nock out of a carbon bolt? I read a post for aluminum botls that suggested screwing a field point in the nock, heating the point with a torch, and using pliers to pull it out. Can I do the same for the carbon bolts.

You got it, screw in a field point get a good set of pliers and pull it out , you will not need any heat at all to do this if you are not strong enough get your wife to do it LOL . As well depending on the brand of nock have some sand paper about 200 grt sand the end as to remove any glue, as well sand inside the shaft not to much make sure the nock matches the arrow diametor, take your time and you will have it done without any problems . All the best

On the fire bolts I noticed when useing the Nap quick twist
That when putting them in the boiling water the nocks came out

Screw the field point into the nock and heat and pull until it comes out.

After the shaft and glue cools down, if you've got a .38 cal wire bore brush, run it in and out the end of the shaft to get the remaining glue out. This should do it.
