I never unstring my bow and I my limbs seem slightly...

Post by darwal44 »

Hi everyone. As is custom of many here, I never unstring my crossbow. The only time I unstring it is when I'm going to change the string.
After more or less four years, I have noticed that my limbs are not as straight as when I bought my Exomax. They aren't bent, it's just that they no longer look as before. I'm not sure if this is an optical illusion of my part or they really have gotten slightly bent with the pass of time.
I know many of you also never unstring their bows. So, have you notice the same thing I'm noting?
I'll post a picture of my limbs after a few years of being strung almost all the time, so you can tell me if you see what I see.

Thanks

Yers look like mine when i take the string off. They have the slight forward angle because of the Riser. Also the Riser is tilted abit so the pressure of string is on the rail.

I will leave my crossbow without string for one month and a half. I think those limbs deserve a break after years of shooting

I never unstring my bow unless changing the string of course. Your bow looks normal to me??

My phoenix has had over 10,000 shots through it, never is unstrung unless changing strings, has been through more hardships than most will ever see and it has the original limbs still on it; I wouldn't worry at all about yours as they look normal to me; many excals here on this forum has many years of use that are alot older than yours and mine and those owners will quickly acknowledge to the toughness of excalibur.

10,000 shots!! :!: Wow!!
xbowholic, Do you realize that you might have broken a Guinness World Record?
Seriously. I know you didn't keep track of your shooting (I guess) and those 10,000 shots are an approximate, but still they are thousands of shots
Before I bought my Exomax I had an RC-150 Barnett compound crossbow (I still have it). But I wanted something more powerful. I chose Excalibur for its simplicity and reputation 8)
I knew they were good crossbows, but Gee!!
