Post by Cryon » Tue Jan 03, 2012 6:33 pm

I'm looking for the weights of the bare shafts with inserts front and rear, No Fletching.

Brass front insert and aluminum rear
Aluminum Front and rear insert.

If this information is possible it would be appreciated.
Thank you

I had a half dozen bare shafts laying aroung and here is the weights that I got with my scales.

Bare shaft-aluminum rear and brass insert - 280.9 grams
Bare shaft-aluminum front and rear insert - 214.8 grams

Plus or minus a couple of grams either way.

Am sure theoldarcher meant grains, not grams. A GT brass insert is usually 110 gr, the alum nock 22 gr. Alum inserts 32 gr. [3] 4" Duravanes 27 gr, [3] 2" Blazers 18 gr.

A 'new' GT L II w/ brass inserts, alum nock and 4" vanes w/ 100 gr point is very close to 408 gr. Add 25 gr for 'old' GT, [.007" thicker walls]

Add another 10 gr to the above for wraps.

See, thats why I feel so comfortable on here. When I get something wrong someone is quick to point it out, it's like being at home with my wife.
