It is an excellent scope. It is crisp, clear and has not left anything to be desired in low light conditions. I own a few Hawkes including the XB30 and it's the best "crossbow scope" I own.

I have used all the Excalibur in the past and the DLX I used this season is certainly the best of the bunch. Crisp and clear with a better field of view as boo said.
I use mine on the Equinox.

Got mine on the Equinox. No complaints from me on it, other than I haven't gotten to draw a bead with it enough on deer.

After reading these posts I'm starting to rethink my decision to get the Shadowzone last fall. I was going to step up to the Twilight when my Lumizone went bad, but was talked out of it. That person said that for the cost a good Leupold would be better than the Twilight. I ended up choosing the Shadowzone for the warranty replacement on my Lumi. Now I'm wishing I would have stuck to my guns with the Twilight. Oh well...another item for my "wish list"!!! :(

Have you priced a good Leupold recently?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Although it's not quite the scope that the Twilight is, the Shadowzone is still a great scope and it will do the job quite nicely. I switched from a Varioneone to a Shadowzone and the difference is quite noticable. I'm very happy with this upgrade. :)

Nope...I haven't priced a good Leupold, but I sure they'd run a few hundred, so I was considering the source when they made that comment. I'm not unhappy with my decision to go with the Shadowzone. Having both red and green for the lighted reticle has been nice. I felt its better than the Varizone with some features as good as the Lumizone, but with a different twist to it. Overall its been a nice scope. Just thinking that the Twilight might have been the better choice. Its nice to hear all the good comments about the Twilight. It will be my next choice for a CB scope in the future.

I'm still shooting a Maxzone for now.
Will be looking for an upgrade before the deer season this year.
Thanks for putting up some recommendations.

My Varizone crapped out the fall of 2010. I was the one who had damaged it, so I wasn't about to have Excal foot the bill for a replacement (even though they probably would have). Since I had to get one, and knew it would last me probably the rest of my life, I went ahead and got the Twilight DLX. I wanted one with the illuminated reticles and the Twilight was the newest out, so...........

It was a pain finding the 30mm steel rings for it, but other than that, I couldn't be happier. :D

How much better is it than the Lumizone and why?
Thanks,

Raymond, I think the DLX glass is overall better compared to the Lumi. Coatings and glass quality is one of the determining factors that make a good scope. The 44mm obj. on the DLX will allow in more light at dusk and dawn and the 30mm main tube will provide a larger field of view over a 1" tube.
