A few years ago 4 RCMP were killed in Alberta.
More recently two were wounded and recovering again in Alberta.

They must of forgot how to use the registry, huh!!!

I toast the end of a stupid law with a glass of Keith's and hope we as free law abiding Canadians never have to be subjected to a gun registery again.

From what I understand, whenever the cops pull up anything on anyone the registry is accessed - that accounts for the high access numbers. So even if they're pulling over speeders they're checking.

We've had the gun/no gun in house discussion with officers - they say they feel better if they know beforehand if there are guns in the house. We respond by asking why they don't just assume there are guns in the house no matter what? After all, persons most likely to possess illegally, store improperly, and use guns for crime AREN'T going to have their firearms registered. Duh.

At any rate, we popped open a bottle of Baby Duck (a bit of an inside joke - thanks Ryan!) and toasted at dinner tonight!

Some great points made here ^^, but I have to add, why would they limit themselves into believing only registered gun owners can be a problem for the law, there are many other forms of hunting in which weapons are used. I would think, if someone has a hunting license, it would be a pretty good guess, that more than likely, they posses a hunting weapon of some type. The bottom line, has got to be the those who own illegal firearms though, they are the ones that are more amp to be involved in a confrontation then a licensed owner, so responding with caution will be their best bet.

Wine? I thought it was carbonated cough syrup! There's a story behind the Baby Duck that has it's roots in our hunt camp but suffice it to say it has become associated with "celebration" within our group. A fellow forum member was kind enough to swallow his pride (a lot easier than swallowing Baby Duck for him I'm sure) and buy a bottle and drop it off at our house yesterday. We appreciate the efforts as I'm sure being seen in public with a bottle of "The Duck" was not easy for him.

One of the ladies at the LCBO I see on a regular basis, who I also attend church with, gave me a really strange look. She usually updates me on the latest Vintages releases after service on Sunday.

Then I picked up my wife from work. She got in the car, saw the bag, opened it and gave me a 'WTF?' look...and I don't mean 'way too funny'.

It's nothing a few eight year old Napa Valley Zinfandels and a couple Aussie Shiraz' won't fix.

But my father will disown me if he knows I even touched a bottle of BD...so...shhhhhhhh.

In short it was our government wanting all guns registered with their owners, thinking it would somehow help reduce gun crimes. What they couldn't see, is hunters are not the problem and never were.

If Obama gets elected again I think the USA will see gun registration at the least. He has already appointed two Supreme Court Justices that are anti 2nd amemdment thus anti gun.

i wqas being facetious when i said gun registry whats that, registering your guns is just so they know where to go and who s door o knock on when they ban themor greatly restrict them , like they did in britain, if you look at syria right now as they battle against tyranny it should serve as a reminder of why its an important freedom, fortunately here in wv you don neeed to register guns , an looks like that will be the case long into the future , i wouldnt register any guns for any reason to anyone ,
