Nov / Dec 2011 > Jan 2012

My home PC out of service , kept me off the net for awhile , and an old back injury flares up > keeps me close to home ... but here are a few pictures I took off the memory cards today .

Catching up on my forum reading ... some beauty whitetails taken in the last few months of the season ... Some great stories and field shots submitted as well Congrat's to all !

A doe and two healthy fawns stayed around my property till seasons end ...

Image

Found a few new spots where the turkeys pass from one property to the next ... this Tom , in a hurry , squeezes through the fence .

Image

Picked up a couple stray kittens , that are keeping the mice down in the barn ...

Image
Image

My daughter moved out in the Spring for College ... her Guinea Pigs and Rabbit , moved out to the Turkey pen .... They seem to enjoy the hay bale maze .

Image
Image

Christmas rolls around ... my wife loves to decorates the house with greenery gathered on our property ... And we have an awsome Christmas dinner with my daughters boyfriend and his parents .

Image

Image
Image

The snow comes and goes ... never amounts to more than a couple inches and at time of writing , has pretty well melted away ... I have the property signed " No Tresspassing " to keep ATV and Snowmobilers from inturupting my hunting , but still get the odd dimwit that can't seem to read the sign's ! .. I took this guys picture as he screwed up an evening stand at Christmas time

Image
Image

The wind knocks down some branches here and there ... our big old female Lab " Jade " , loves to putt along the trails ... but is just as happy lounging in the house !

Image
Image
Image

A couple young bucks have been hanging around ... hope they stay till next October and grow some bigger racks !

Image

Over the holidays , my wife sent me out to pick up some bread and milk ... I found it amusing to see this couple using a different mode of transportation at the grocery store !

Image

Our back trails are pretty well clear ... Which is unusual for this time of year .

Image

The constant freeze / melt cycle has the local critter confused as well ... they don't know if they should fly South or hibernate ?

Image
Image
Image

When my back is bad ... I stay inside and tinker with misc projects , like turning this older model 870 Wingmaster into a new camo stocked / scoped slug gun .

Image
Image

Won't be long till we are all out after the long beards ! ... and posting pictures like these again !

Image
Image

Good luck to all that brave the cold and are fishing the " hard water " ... And good luck to all moving into the Ontario Spring Turkey Season !

Some great pictures as always RJ.
I like the transformation to camo you did on the 870, looks good.
I also see your dog follows the "no dogs on the furniture" rule just as well as our lab does! :)

Great pics (as always)!

Sorry to hear about the back. Mine put me down for a few days last week (lumbar disks slowly degenerating), but it's usually just a couple days of "light duty" until the muscles adjust. It's never fun, though.

Thanks all ...

Yep , cool to get a glimps of a few bucks bedding here and there on the property .

Yep , the all dogs we have owned over the years have had a very comfy life with they were with us !

And that decoy is part of a set I picked up in 1996 have by local carver , Robert Cox .

Thanks again all ...

Somebody PM'd me about refinishing the original wood stock off the older 870 Wingmaster I have .

Unfortunatley I must have accidently deleted the PM and misplaced the contact info ... Not only are my eyes and back failing early , but now obviously my memory as well !

Anyway /// please resend ... I won't lose it this time !
