Trapping season going well.

Post by Hoss »

Seasons been going good. Plenty beaver, yotes, and to many dang skunks lmao, 1 big ole silver boar possom and plenty coon and this morning I scored a real nice fox in january and wanted to share it. Im not sure if this is the fox ive playing cat and mouse with for weeks or not but some fox has been digging up my traps. in the same area. One time it dug it up moved it to the side stole my bait and the without setting it off he even took a big dump right on top of it as if digging it up and moving it wasnt hard enough on me. Them rascals are scent sensitive and tough to out fox hahaha pardon the pun. Well this morn the jig was up..

Now let me tell you there is plenty of money to be made on skunks besides the fur. you can sell the skunk spray as well as making lure with it and the bags the scent is in is great for making trap lure as well... Its tricky.you dont want to shoot them they will spray everytime and then you have no skunk juice to harvest.you have to get them without them sprayin and this is not the look you want one giving you as your approaching..a little sweet talkin goes along way with them. Thats all i can say its kinda tricky to say the least..but as long as the tail is down its ok to advance..Have I ever been sprayed? not yet but there is always a first..

we have a pole about 6ft long with a injection needle on the end. walk up to him talkn sweet and let him smell the needle and just go slow..then push a needle between his front legs under his neck as hes facing you and push. it will inject the sleepin juice into him and its just a matter of a few seconds and its over..

Good to hear the trappin's been good so far Hoss. I hope you remain scent free for the rest of the season too. Good luck. :)
