Has anyone ever tried groundhog ?

What does it taste like?

I haven't but have heard a couple of my uncles talk about eating them, they said hey tasted good, but I don't remember how they cooked them

Par-boil and bake or par-boil and fry. Season per your likes. Very good either way.

The younger ones are better tasting, what they taste like. Thats a tuff one  Abit between tree rats n rabbit. Young of the yr 10 weeks to 8 months do well flouring n frying or crock-pot n make nice stew wid veggies. You broil or bake its all good even BBQ'ed :D

I used to hack off the hind legs and broil them in college and it seems to me they tasted like turkey (not chicken).

Tastes like chicken!

To me they are very similar to squirrel both in taste & texture.
Best cooked with a slow, moist method (crock pot).

Always wanted to try it but never had the chance. I also heard it was really good but they should be the smaller ones.
To be a vegetarian is to listen to the live carrot gradually screaming as it drowns in a pot of boiling water …. Which is more ethical to you ??

Some critter just made itself a home under the concrete floor of my shop.
Set a trap last night.
If it's a g-hog then it will be dinner.
Update later.
