Hopefully someone can shed some light here. I bought a (redhead) red dot sight for my slug gun. My question is, does the point of impact change if I don't have the red dot in the center (near center) of the lens?
When I align the dot on target with the dot near the edge of the lens, and look through the barrel, it does not look like it is pointing at the same location as when I align the dot in the middle of the lens (and point it at the target). If the dot needs to be near the middle of the lens, how close to the middle should it be, and how does one do this consistently with no reference marks on the lens?
I have tried different brand slugs and I am still looking for the optimum.

It's been my experience with red dots if you can see them through your lens you will be alright, that's what makes them so fast to use
