Another question from a newbie.
Can I use any broad head on the firebolts for my Ibex as long as the arrow and tip add up to 350 grains minimum. Is there any difference between broadheads for compound bows and ones for crossbows, seems to be a pile of them on the market. I have my CB lined up using a 150 grain field tip, if I was to use a 100 grain broad head how much of a difference should I expect, a few inches high? Or way out of there?
Thanks
Bill G.

Can you use any broadhead as long as the combo is at least 350gr. Yes
Is there any difference between broadheads for verticals & broadheads for x-bows? The manufacturers will tell you there are but i haven't found any difference other than the packaging.
If you sight in with a 150gr fieltip then shoot a 150gr broadhead, but don't expect it to hit same poi as your fieldtip, some will...most won't. The animals we hunt deserve our respect, NEVER shoot at an animal until you have confirmed your broadhead of choice's poi.
Good luck

Re: Broadheads
If there is any difference in broadheads I don't know of any. There are many different choices for broadheads. In the 100 gr. mechanical head a lot of shooters are using the NAP Spitfire and the fixed blade 100 gr. head a lot of shooters are using the Slick Trick.
I just switched from the 3 blade Rage to the Slick Trick Magnums they will fly close to an inch out to 50 yards with my field points out of my Vortex. The only reason I switched was I got tired of having a hard time changing the blades out of the Rage Broadheads. I can change the blades in the slick Tricks in about a minute or less. Good Luck with your choices.
