i use it on the rail to make it super slick for the string to glide acrossed. some here say its not needed and i am not saying it is needed. but in my opinion ,less friction between rail and string can't be a bad thing. and it does not attract dirt and grime like wax and oily products. i sray it on a rag and wipe the rail about every 10-15 shots.

Be careful. While it is pretty slick stuff it is also known to eat some plastics.

I looked for the stuff down here and couldn't find it. Finally just got a bottle of silicon/teflon liquid. I cleaned the excess wax off the rail with the side of a toothpick and some GooGone on a rag. After it was clean, I put a light coating of the silicon/teflon on there. Slicked'er right up.

i read that this is caused by the propellant :?: and spraying it on a rag first rather then directly on your bow solves this issue,i have never had an issue and have been using it for years

I love jigaloo and use it for tons of things. I usually purchase it at Menards.

I think jig-a-loo is based here in Montreal which is why I see the stuff all over the place, but funny enough have never bought any. I guess I now have a reason to pick up a can.

They also sell a greaseless oil-free lube called Graphite Extreme made for use in extreme conditions, which does not attract grit or dust. I wonder if something like that would also work on a rail.

If it has graphite in it, you don't want anything to do with it, at least not on your hunting gear.
It will smear black graphite everywhere.
Used it once for something else and won't touch it again for anything.
Buddy used it in his locks all the time but I couldn't stand the dirty keys.

That may be true to a degree.

METHYLENE CHLORIDE
PERCHLOROETHYLENE

These two are hazardous no matter where you live.
PERCHLOROETHYLENE was used in the dry cleaning industry until many jurisdictions banned it for health concerns.

Just a warning, you have the right to live the way you want.
