Free string! Angel Majesty Endless Loop String Test

Post by Boo »

I need a couple of testers that uses a high performance endless loop strings.

You must have;
- a chronograph
- good familiarity with endless loop high performance strings
- have a 225 or 200 lb bow equipped with an S5
- have liberal access to shooting (not your basement).
- be willing to post the results

I need you to critique an Angel Majesty endless loop string that is served with Angel Majesty serving. It is not an endurance test, just a "what do you think" test.

You may experience higher speeds and material failure (the string will not break but there may be serving issues).

I was asked by Angel Majesty to run a test on their materials on a public forum. Please keep in mind that making endless loop strings is not my bag so please bear with me if it seems I don't know what the heck I'm doing!

This will cost you nothing and you get a free string. Please send me an email with your set up including what endless loop strings you have.

200 I can do Don, but 225 is more than my tired 'reworked' shoulders can handle repeatedly. I roll my own ELs too but only for the compound. Fun to make but not nearly as much fun/ease as a Flemish.

Angel Majesty String Test

Post by Boo »

The strings are made from Angel Majesty products. The materials are all pretty expensive but have been provide to me free of charge. I am not being paid for this project but I am just helping out just like I do for Excalibur and a couple of other companies. Like Strum said to me, the more we experiment with different things the more we all gain.
Here are a couple of notes for the testers. The string should settle in in about 30 shots or so. When it has stopped creeping locate the string at your desired brace height. Then take something like a shoe lace or nylon cord and wrap it around the string. With moderate pressure pull back and go up and down quickly about 5 times. This will soften the coating on the string material and will cause the string to moderately bond together. This will exclude dirt and moisture and reduce the need for string wax. Of course as the string gets old and lots of use it may start to get "hairy" at which time you can either re-burnish the string or just wax it.
You should find 2 things about this string. One is the reduced string creep and the other is a gain of 5 ft/sec or more. If there is anything else you guys notice please comment on this thread.

I would LOVE to do this... but i'm in a 200 LB vortex... and I've used a excal FFF string and the stock endless loop. PM me if I can still jump in this boo.

I would have helped, but just sold my Equinox on here. I'm afraid my Vortex doesn't qualify :(

Well i received my Angel Majesty endless loop Boo string in the mail today :D ...first thing i noticed is this is definitely a quality string made with quality materials. I put a very light coat of some dalton's wax on it & installed it to the high brace mark on my vortex. I will let it stretch some overnight & go to the range in the morning armed with my chrony and put some carbon down range!! :D
Will post my results/findings tomorrow.

I like the idea of a Angel's waxless string material. They're definately thinking outside the box with serving and string material. It is very pricey though.
What was your view on the previous Flemish string you made from this material Boo? What qualities did you notice about it?
Did it bond together well after a good rubbing?

Just got back from the range. :D
I set the brace height to the highest mark last night, total stretch overnight was just shy of .25 of an inch. After twenty shots i had to put two twist in the string to bring it to the brace height i keep which is about a credit card's width off my s5 bumper's.
As for noise the wife said she could tell no difference standing about 5yds behind me. I put 50 shots down range today. Serving wear was very minimal & in the normal places, end loops look good.
The last five shots i put through the chrony, average was 309.3 & that's using a 393gr arrow. That's the surprising part to me  my viper-x string averages 316.1fps, a 6.8fps difference. That's minimal & no deal breaker to me because so far i'm really impressed with this string, a very smooth shooting string. I will put some more shots down range with it asap & post the results.
