They then hit the ground and started to move away quickly gobbling .Inviting any hens to try and follow .
Brief history . We as in me , dad/Old buck and my brother Scott/Close up have been chasing these birds for the whole season when we had the time . So there has always been one of us looking for them .
These two have always obliged with the odd gobble but never come in to our or the real hen calls . I actually watched them yesterday actually run away from hens who were standing out there in the field with them . So these two trotted away this morning across the field and proceeded to strut and gobble at the other end .
But patience paid off . For they then got bored and walked back our way SLOWLY !!!!!

The two of them were obviously on the Jenny Craig diet for turkeys . Where you wake up at the crack of stupid gobbling your fool head off occasionally . Then fly down , running away from the ladies every time they squawk .
By our estimate they lost about 20% of their pre-hunting season weight . Jenny Craig eat your heart out .
Scotts bird : 19 pounds 2 ounces , 10 inch beard , 1.5 inch spurs .
My bird : 17 pounds 4 ounces , 12.625 inch beard , 1.625 spurs .
