S5 setup with ground pounder

Post by MR. GADGET »

Anyone have any pointers on setting up the S5 on a max with the groundpounder mount on it.
Does the S5 still mount on top? and then the ground pounder on top of that?
Just got the S5 in and started looking at it.
Any thoughts or pictures of that setup?
What is the best clearance to have between the string FFF and the bumpers?

Send Todd a pm[ ground pounder] I think he modified some bolts for this, I may be wrong it won't hurt to ask him.

Here is a picture of my Vortex with Munch Mount and S5. Easy set up. Munch has the proper screws, etc.

OK I found the longer bolts, I think they came with the ground pounder.
I did not have the washers that are needed to fit the tube to the S5. The top of the S5 is rounded and the tubes flat.
Can they be had at a local hardware store or someplace. Anyone Know?
Thanks.

you may find them at a hardware store but it took me 3 weeks to find them in England and wanted to sell me minimum of 5000 pieces .i use shorter posts as well and only 5/8" so they are less weight

You sell just the posts and washers? No need for another full mount.
If so PM or email me info on them please.

Pretty sure they are called saddle washers. I would think most hardware type stores would have them.

I stopped making my mount just before Excalibur came out with the S5 dampening system. The longer bolts that I sent you with your mount worked with the STS dampening system. Munch has a solution to the S5 mount with using a moon shaped saddle washer. You might be able to find them at a hardware store or make your own.
