I have not had any issues with mine thus far.
I use it fully extended and it holds the limbs just far enough so I can get the string off.
Mine sits most of the time in my archery box away from sharp objects.
Let us know what you find.

If you're in the USA [fill out profile] send the damaged one to Danny, he'll warrantee it. He's off to Africa as we speak, so be a tad patient............

I'm still using my blue one to this day.
I don't cock the bow back very far with it, just enough to remove the string.

Not exactly but what I have noticed is that the the cute little plastic straw that covers the string gets eaten alive by my trigger claws on two different devices by Excal
after buying 2 of these devices at 20.00 $ I changed to paracord no problems after change
Forget calling Excal the product is less the Well you know what i`m saying
I will not buy another one of these toys

Joe171 :( :( :(
also found the same with the rope cocking device I noticed after maybe after 50 to 60 uses it started to fray
I don't use this HIgh End Device ether Para cord it works !!!
