Exciting Saturday

Post by wheelie »

Had a camera crew in Meaford complete with underwater cameras even. Pretty exciting day for my first photo shoot about bowfishing. Got warout sitting in hot sun for 6 1/2 hours in my boat. They came back in evening so they could shoot on personal time and they got about 20 shots at carp but no hits. Say they will be building bows for next year. Get some attention to bowfishing and it is the first step to open bowfishing year round. Very exciting day for me.

Sorry Was out of town working. 37oC in Toronto yesterday. :( :(
Yes it is possible with an Excalipur. Handle bolts on right where the quiver goes underneath your bow. AMS makes the handle then bolt on a AMS reel. It is debatable if allowed in Ontario here and I don't have the resources for a court battle. They took it out of 2012 regulations this year.

I will say this. I use a modified kids compound bow and I get asked if it is a crossbow almost daily. To run around the Meaford harbour with a loaded crossbow in town would more than likely do more harm to the sport than it would do good. I would maybe use a crossbow up river far away from any people if it was allowed.

^^Thanks for the info, I can understand how pulling out a loaded crossbow on a crowded dock wouldn't be the brightest idea around here. I looked into some laws and discharging a firearm or bow isn't allowed in my city within my city limits, but we do have "controlled" environments that I would have access to that I'm planning on taking advantage of.

Went and had a look just now. Some good shots. Very nice people and welcome to my home anytime. :) :) They got slimmed by my Bloodhound (thinks he is a beagle) so my dogs would welcome them back anytime also. LOL
