Glueing nocks, yes or no

Post by Roadrunnr72 »

Just got my order of GT II with brass inserts and al nocks. I know that most are glueing in the brass inserts with hot melt glue, but what about the nocks? These have the threaded hole in the end and know that x-cal has a tool used for pulling the arrows out of targets, but I don't think I have a need for the tool. So if I am not pulling the arrows out of targets with the inserts, do they need to be glued in?

I use hot melt on my nocks but not my inserts
I like something stonger for inserts.

Hot melt is not the best if using pullers

My last insert glueing in involved gorilla glue, the brown carpenter stuff sans water anywhere, didn't push the inserts out and seems to have solved the GT L II's/insert problems............

if you have a dozen, consider putting lumenoks on 6. you don't need to glue them in at all.they fit really tight and in my opinion, once you start shooting lumenoks, you won't want to shoot without them.

Hot melt front and back after losing more inserts using crazy glue. Gorilla glue is great for inserts but messy and virtually unremovable.

Blue cap Gorilla glue for nock and inserts here! They don't ever come out unless I take them out with heat.

That's true. GG is the best super glue around. BUT, extreme cold (the kind we sometimes have here in Minnesota) weakens any superglue by shrinking the carbon shaft. Left some arrows in garage overwinter, found that out.
