Re: tree stand?
Welcome to the Forum. I use a Summit Viper SS but i am not a big person cept my pot belly. So if'en you 190 lbs on up Goliath might be more comfortable. Advice don't use them when ice is stickin heavy to tree trunks, make yer rump orfice pucker faster than a cat can licks its ***
Re: tree stand?
Look at the 2012 Viper at 16 pounds.

I just bought a Treewalker climber. I'm 5'11" and 215#. It's plenty big and comfortable for me. It weighs 19 #.

Re: tree stand?
I bought a Summit Specialist SD a few weeks ago. Only weighs 14 lbs. Works very well, especially if you're a smaller person.

Thanks everyone! I will keep my eye open for one. how high do you climb up a tree for whitetail? Also at 25-30 out do you need to aim high or low? when up the tree. thanks again!!

Re: tree stand?
20 feet or so is usually as high as I care to go. If the distance to the deer is measured from your elevated height then the actual distance (measured from the base of the tree to the deer) will be slightly less, but not enough to make any significant difference in where the arrow will hit.

Re: tree stand?
Be careful with that Viper... They have a nasty tendency to put a man to sleep in a quick hurry.
Most comfortable stand I've ever owned.

Re: tree stand?
I too think the Viper SD is the best climber out there. Really comfortable, which is a big plus for my back. I never go higher than 20 feet. Make sure to wear a harness.
