New Excalibur owner and just joined forum!

Post by yooper_man »

I just joined this forum after purchasing and shooting (sighting in) my brand new Excalibur #6772 Equinox Shadow-Zone Light Stuff package. I bought this from an Excalibur online dealer with extras a total of 19 each Firebolt Arrows, Arrow Puller, Deluxe T-Form Padded Case, 2 each Flemish Dyna Flight Strings (already installed), 6 each Boltcutter Broadheads, Stock X-Tender, 2 each Stringing Aid, Serving Ex-Wax, Rail Ex-Lube and Trigger Ex-Oil.

I upgraded my 1980's old Bear Brown Bear round wheel compound bow to the above package for deer hunting in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

All I can say after making the plunge into this all out package is awesome! I am using The Block Black Crossbow Target which stopped all my bolts and I never missed even out too 50 yards. I shot it using a Harris bench rest bipod for sighting in, then after off hand and out of my 15" ladderstand at 30 yards. This is a sweet crossbow with an excellent trigger and so happy I didn't fall for one of the compound brands. I did my research and I feel made the right choice the only choice Excalibur.

The only problem I had was I pulled out one threaded insert with the puller, but all I need is too re-glue since the arrow is not damaged. Anyone know of a good glue too use?

Thank you,
yooper_man

Get one of these, Dan Miller [740] 483-2312. I prefer using hot melt on inserts...............

I believe Iron Insert (Bohning) is currently the hottest insert glue at the moment. Apparently it's heat reversible.

Welcome to the forum!

The arrow puller by Danny Miller is the best way to get arrows out of a foam target. Grip the arrow, give it a little twist (rotate the arrow slightly to break the grip of the foam), and pull straight out!

Welcome to the forum :)

I use hotmelt glue for inserts and nocks, and
avoid useing thread in pullers.

Used to use regular Gorilla glue, only they never come out again.

Thank you everyone.

I do like the straight pull I get from the threaded T-handle, but I guess I need some arrow lube. I am worried the lube will bury my fletching.

Also glad to discover the boltcutter broadheads fly the same flight as field points.

I do have some 5 minute 2 part epoxy, will this work for the insert?

Welcome to the forum! As for the epoxy, you shouldn't need anything that strong. If you do use it, I'd put just a drop on with a toothpick (use VERY sparingly).
