Hello had to go from vertical bows for the last 30+ years to crossbow do to left arm surgury ,can only shoot vertical with a brace so I did my home work on X-bows and decieded Excal was the best of the lot. I bought my Vortex Lite stuff pkg, Illinois only allows 200lbs. max weight, and got it Friday was shooting it on Saturday all I can say is Hot Dam!!!!I could use any advice on arrows , broadheads, I have been using Thunderhead 125 and Stinger 125 and 150gr on my vertical bows they fly great and kill quik....by the way stopped a archery shop in Richmond ,Illinois and they said that Excal was being bought out or sold ,so they had heard ?????Only negative thing so far is the Vortec is louder than I'm used to and the trigger has a little to much take-up
.thanks for any help you can give....

Welcome to the forum!!!!
Loud I can't help you on, but you'll get used to it.
As for the trigger, there are a couple options.
Contact Boo and he can smooth it up for you (requires sending it to him).
With the safety ON pulling the trigger before you flip the safety OFF to shoot will sometimes take up some of the slack.

Welcome to the forum!!!
Check into the s5 string stop for you bow...will help take some of the "twang" out of it. Crossbows are loud, you will get used to it.
Try the broadheads you have, if they group no problem. If they don't try slick tricks...they shoot very well out of all three of my bows.![Cool 8)](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)
