Hit a deer (with my ATV)

Post by ninepointer »

Yup, I actually ran into a doe with my ATV on Saturday night  . No worries, the deer, the driver and the ATV are all fine.

I was on a narrow forest trail when a doe stepped out right in front of my bike; I mean she could not have been any closer! If not for the fact that my hands were busy applying the brakes, I could have reach over the handlebars and patted the doe on the head  ! Fortunately I was going slow on account of the rough trail and I was pulling a trailer. Although I sort of T-boned the deer, it was more of a nudge than an impact and the doe trotted off.

BTW, 2 nights earlier I was held up on the same stretch of trail by a 2 1/2 year old bull moose that was walking in front of me. I must of followed that moose for 200 yards before he found his exit. There's never a passing lane when you need one!

Good you weren't going fast. Sounds kind of funny. My cousin and his wife hit a big buck with there harley last year and got busted up pretty bad.
