finally - a buck at the feeder

Post by wabi »

Not during legal hours, but close!

It wouldn't take too long for me to decide whether to shoot or let him walk.

Had one (might have been him) within 45 yards yesterday evening and never even thought about the toe. This one actually looked like a wider rack, but I didn't get anything but a side view as he was crossing the field on my left and never stopped (just a slow walk) or swung his head for a look to the side. Neck & tail extended and he was on a mission. Whether he was trailing a doe, or going to whip some young intruder I'm not sure, but he was not going to be distracted.

Actually the toe is unbandaged now and doing fine. A but tender still, but healing well.

It took me a bit to figure out what looked weird about that deer . It has some stuff on top of its head . When I Googled this , they are called antlers .
Definitely a fine looking deer . As for how old he is . I imagine if he walks by in range .
He is as old as he will ever get . :D
Good luck

He's a beauty for sure. I hope he wanders by during legal hours for you. :)
