buck fawn

Image
got to my stand at 3:50 sunday night , 4:00 saw 2 deer coming in ,put my smoke out and sat waiting.they were a pair of fawns. the smaller one was broad side a couple of times but I waited for the bigger one.at 4:15 he turned for me and I took him at 20 yards , he went about 25 yds and dropped .the arrow went through its heart. the land owner don't want us shooting the big does because we have taken about 7 in the last 2 years.

Congratulations!!!!!!!

I sometimes take a "weanling" for meat. Depending on the deer population, predator population, available browse, and winter weather they can be the first to go in a bad winter. Figure I'd might as well beat the coyotes to the dinner table.

Nice deer. Any whitetail with a bow is a trophy to me. It just so happens that uyourn particular trophy will also taste great and be "fork tender"
