Nocks & Broadheads for a Vortex Crossbow

Post by montana4me »

I'm a newbie to Crossbows so go easy on me plz. Actually I just received it in the box & haven't even built it yet. Question: Does it matter if I use Flat or Moon nocks on my Crossbow bolts? Also, how many grains of broadhead should I put with the 20 inch bolts? I plan to buy some new Easton bolts today. What is the best broadhead for killing deer & elk? Which is better & why? Thx in advance for your help!!!! :)

:D stick with flat nocks, with moon nocks they have to go on a certain way, or it will jump the nock. flat ,you can put on anyway. i use firebolt and 150 feild points. and for broadheads,i use 150 boltcutters and 125 rage for crossbow. you might find a differnt combo that works for you. good luck to you.
