Wind direction indicater tip oldie but goodie

Post by gerald strine »

I used to do this with my vertical bows but forgot about it until today with the crossbow.
I taped a piece of sewing thread to the front of my bow limb pulled the thread back to just in front of my bow string and cut it their so it could not get tangled on the bow string the slightest wind will blow it. no need to carry powders, fluff or any of that stuff. Its free and easy :D

Actualy i've been doing that for quite some time also :) another good thing that works is a small( "about 1 1/2" long" ) feather on a piece of thread, works very well

Something else that works great is a 10 or 12 inch piece of spider wire fishing line. I use the 6 lb. test on all my rifles. Just tie it to the end of your barrel.

That's a great tip there. I didn't need thread or a powder puffer tonight. I was up in my stand with winds gusting to 60 kph (40 mph) right into my face!! Good thing I'm no light weight...I mighta been blown right out of my tree!!
