Dry fired my exomax this morning

Coming down from my stand I was lowering my xcal .Somehow the safety push off .A few feet down from the stand it went off ( hit a small limb just right) NO DAMAGED!!!! I did replace the string it popped a few strangs..But the limbs where fine .Checked it after replacing the string reset the scope good to go...Thats nice

I keep a rubber band around the stock and slip it over the safety to keep it on, until I'l ready to hunt. I'd first read about it here many years ago.

i never let mine down or pull it up cocked ..i just cock/decock it in the stand..

I dry fired mine yesterday. First time and hopefully the last. Scared the crap out of me. I had ordered a new string when I bought the xbow a few years ago but after replaceing I measured the old one. It is 35 1/2 and the one I oredered (#1994 Excel) Im concerned that it is the right one. Shoots perfect, more accurate than ever. The Bow is a Exocet 200 and I love it. Any info would be much appreciated.

Excaliburs can get pushed off safety very easy i had it happen more than once when walking into a stand , so i made a guard that covers both sides of the safety but you can still get to the safety easy and it has not happened in three years . I would like to see them come this way new.
