Stupid Newbie Question

Post by montana4me »

I had a crazy idea last night about "Bore Sighting" in my NEW VORTEX. Would it work to lay a rifle bore sitter on the rail (where the bolt goes) & then adjust the scope as you do on a rifle scope? Has anyone else thought of this or done it? I know it sounds stupid but I'll bet it would get it close for the 1st shot. Still haven't shot it for the furst time yet. Thx in advance for answering my DUMB QUESTION!!! :)

If the bore laser was the proper diameter and length to fit snug and square on the rail, I couldn't see any reason why it wouldn't get you close... Just be sure to account for arrow drop, which would be done while fine tuning for your distances.

Woods.

There are no dumb questions!

Should work, but why bother.

You don't need to "get it on paper" by bore sighting.

If you haven't shot it yet, take the plunge and do so. I trust you'll find it near dead-on as it comes from the box.

X-2 mine was dead on, right out of the box,
If it was me, I would shoot it first :)

All the above are spot on but.... a stud from a collet type collminator will fit right in a 2117 shaft and you can use the string to hold it down.Dont ask how I know, I would never overthink anything like that... no never. lol
