It's a radar unit, it will measure arrow speed.

I just borrowed one from a buddy for paintballs, I'll see if it will work. I would like to purchase one though, I'll check in at Lebaron's, thanks. :D

I use the Pro Chrono. What ever you buy get a decent indoor light system. The best is the infared LED type.
Most importantly don't shoot it like I shot my Chrony.

It uses 2 light sensing "eyes" or sky screens. When the bullet or arrow goes over one then the other the processor measures the time yeilding a speed of the bullet or arrow.

I got him beat. I shot mine twice. Once with a shotgun one with my Hoyt. Both times it was around it cost me $30(?) to exhange the dead unit for a new one.

Maybe, he also shot my Dad's truck, with an unloaded paintball marker!

The story behind it, is my Dad is very cautious with any weapons, knowing what they can do. After we returned from a game of paintball, my buddy was being rather careless with is marker (gun) and my Dad said to him, "You know it's the unloaded gun that kills"

He replied, "What? How can an unloaded gun kill?" He then squeezed the trigger and shot all up the side of the truck while we ducked! My Dad just shook his head and said, "I'm glad I don't hunt with you! "

Did you buy it locally, Boo?

The Shooting Chrony. It works great for bow or gun at a reasonable price.

This one by Competitive Edge Dynamics has served my shooting and archery needs very well over the years. $200.

X 2 Great advice when shooting indoors. We actually built layers of plexi glass angled up to cover the front of ours at the 3D archery range. We've had 2 vertical shooters hit the glass so far with no damage to the Chrony.

I was chatting with a friend last night and telling him that I was looking at buying a chrono. He got all excited and told me he recently bought one for paintball, and I could try it out if I wanted to. I picked it up this morning, hung it on my Xbow and shoot a few arrows, 280, 281, 283 fps. I may pick one up for myself, they're just over $100, and it uses doppler radar, so light shouldn't be an issue, but I'll have to try it indoors.

It hangs upside down on off the front stirrup
Image
first # is 100's

second # is 10's, so 283fps Image

Oehler expensive but very accurate and has a printer better suited for firearms!
