What are we? not dial up friendly

Post by Close Up »

My wife was out on a photo shoot today and came across these ducks we don't recognize. Anyone know what kind they are?

Sorry can't help you with identification, but, I can tell you if you show your pictures to two teenage girls you get a whole bunch of, "There so cuuuute, I want one, Where was the picture taken - are they close?" :D

I would say Mallards crossed with a domestic duck.

Not sure what they are, but it looks like some good feathers for fly tying and the breast would probably cook up real nice.

Yep, they are crossbreeds. We get a lot of them on a local lake a few blocks from my house. No hunting allowed so a lot of Mallards use it. White ducks that folks have raised and no longer want are often dumped there also. They breed. :D
